British Cycling Level 2 Coach, Mountain Bike Leader, Go-MTB,
2 Day Outdoor First Aid, Child Protection Training
After many years of playing and coaching rugby I decided to give road cycling ago and progressed quickly to racing and really enjoyed the scene travelling all over Scotland. I wanted to give coaching cycling a go so I did my British Cycling coaching qualification.
I decided to give mtb racing a go in the SXC Series which is the cross country mountain bike race series and again travelled all over Scotland racing some demanding courses which helped my coaching and experience.
I've also competed in some Endurance events like the Selkirk MTB marathon, several 10 Under The Ben events along with the Strathpuffer 24 MTB race in quads and a pair. I've now retired from racing to focus on my coaching and have completed my MTB and Cyclocross discipline specific coaching units along with my Trail Cycle Leader and Mountain Bike Leader awards and I'm accredited to level 5 in the cycling Scotland Go-MTB scheme.
Coaching is my passion and love being involved in coaching kids at the club.
